Allegany County, MD, adopted the 2006 IRC, Appendix E, for the governance of manufactured one- and two-family dwellings and appurtenances. Allegany County, MD, Municipal Code § 255-1 (adopted).

Table R301.2(1) states ice shield barrier is required. Appendix A, Chapter 3 Building Planning.

Installation of automatic sprinkler systems is voluntary within one- and two-family dwellings until such time as these standards are amended consistent with the 2015 International Residential Code. For the purposes of these regulations, mobile and modular homes are classified as one-family homes.

Existing Buildings

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.
